Eating the Heart
of the turkey
I hear the heart is nutritious packed with minerals and protein, but if I include it in my soup a child may find it, who will say, "Ew gross, what's this?" And the others will grimace. Then, they'll use it as excuse not to finish what I produced. They'll say, "I've lost appetite. I cannot eat another bite." Then, know what'll happen next? They'll sneak snacks unchecked. So, I don't put the heart in my stew. I eat it myself, but as I chew, I'm glad no one sees my frown at forcing a turkey heart down. Next time, I'll act more fair by tempting them to eat it on a dare.
