Soft and light and glazed to shine Warm from the oven and filled with cream. God, please give me a donut, Or else let me crave you like I do this confection. A simple show with likable hosts Edited shots of perfected gardens Green and lush with blooms aplenty. God, may I live in beautiful spaces, Or else let me see your growth In what’s unedited around me. Showered hair and shaved legs Slipping between just-washed sheets To sleep in its fresh scents. God give me rest in cleanliness, Or else make me clean through mess And scent me with your son. Everyone together and no one mad Kids’ eager faces and willing hearts. God give me relief from family fighting, Or else let me bring the peace By loving like you do among factions. Tagless shirts and breathable shoes And bras that don’t dig into my skin. God give me comfortable clothes, Or else reshape me into The garment Christ is upon me. Food and beauty, order and peace Like donuts behind glass window panes. I’d like to eat them all But I’ve only got $3.50 And I suppose if I ate them all, I wouldn't fit Into the clothes he’s preparing me.
