We are not scattered droplets, alone and divided, harboring each his own secrets. Rather, we are a sea, enmeshed with the crimes of the world as the world is enmeshed with ours. Like the ocean currents, round and round, all connected in effect to one another unrestricted by place or time. Our sea. Our humanity. Our immorality. With Eve savoring the fruit, With Israel nailing Christ to the cross, With Germany butchering Jews, With America electing poor policy With industries pillaging the earth, We are all participants in the shockwaves rippling this ocean. My sin is yours And yours is mine. None innocent or blameless. "We have sinned against the Lord, Our God, Both we and our ancestors," (Jeremiah 3:25b). "Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin,and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—" (Romans 5:12 NIV)
Redo - my index finger hit something and ... Azzzz i was trying to say, Very enlightening poetic commentary on something that has always caused me to to ask God how that ‘blanket imputation of my progenitor’s sin’ ended up on my spiritual account. He then reminds me that Jesus’ righteousness earned by Jesus, not me, has also been imputed to my account, so i have no legal grounds upon which to grumble. However, this ‘blanket’ guilt always makes me ask Him, “Ok, i think i get it, as You withdraw your hedge of protection from around my nation and, among many other things, my shekel keeps shrinking, (even though i personally wage war against abortion, etc.), Your wrath against my nation is punishing me too!?! 😳. Then He reminds me that He’s providing for my every need, compensating me, protecting me in supernatural, miraculous ways, (if i haven’t been noticing)... Soooo, i just need to trust and not be anxious about it. What is the worst thing that could happen to me that He hasn’t and isn’t providing, including Eternal Life. So, that just leaves my last concern, ‘If the worst case scenario takes place in this nation, please shield me from things that may cause me extreme physical pain... 😵💫
