Do not Be Anxious 24 No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and human understanding. 25 Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about what you know or what you will do next or what you will say, nor about how you will learn more or what you ought to read next. Is not life more than knowing, and the mind more than thinking? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither read nor write nor think about their thoughts, and yet your heavenly Father enlightens them about all they need to know. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you, Enneagram Five's, by thinking more can add a single hour to his span of life? 28 And why are you anxious about your next decision? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither mull nor contemplate, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon's life choices in all his wisdom was not more beautifully timed than one of these. 30 But if God so decides the seasons and growth of the field grass, which today is alive and tomorrow is used for kindling, will he not much more guide you into all truth at the right time, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What will I do?’ or ‘What shall I think?’ or ‘What should I say?’ 32 For the unbelievers are slaves to such thoughts, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But believe first in God's knowing and his action in you, and all these things will be added to you. 34 Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own ponderings and meditations.
