True confession: I have dreaded taking my children to Disneyland. Grandmas and Grandpas have successfully taken the kids there, and they’ve had a wonderful time. But I couldn’t get past the vision of us standing for hours in line with kids who don’t understand germs, who climb on everything, who are good at fighting with each other, who would want every cotton candy, pickle, and $30-balloon while my feet ache from standing and they tug on my arms asking for more and more and more, thinking that money grows on trees. Bleah! No, thank you!
Avoiding Disneyland was possible no longer. One of Phil’s clients, grateful for his great work and outstanding computer skills, gifted our entire family with Disneyland passes, parking included! Going was inevitable. So we packed up the snacks, gave each kid $10 of spending money, and told them they could pick one ride. I comforted myself with the thought of teaching my children the rules of logic while in line. Maybe I could teach them about logical fallacies too. That would be fun.
