May God’s peace be with you.
May you have God's peace, while doing boring things, frightening things, or things so comfortable that you’d like to do it that way forever.
In all that you do, may God’s peace propel you towards His Heavenly Kingdom. May it be like the vision that a mountaineer sees of snow-capped peaks over the treetops, when he is lost in the woods.
May that vision of God’s Holy Mountains spur you through the forest and safeguard you against the evil one, who–the moment you get going–will suggest that this is a bad idea, your vision was wrong, those mountains are fake, trees are scary, no one else is going this way, you better just follow that person over there, they seem to know better.
May God’s peace fine-tune your senses so that you know the difference between the Holy Spirit and the devil, peace and apathy, perseverance and pig-headedness, spiritual battles and self-righteous crusades.
And if you fail to recognize the difference, may God's peace not let you get away, but give you that unsettled feeling that stops you in your tracks as you consider where you are.
Then finally, once you’ve admitted you’re probably off track, may peace aid you in surrendering progress and shimmying up the nearest tree to see where those mountains are once again.
Thanks Abby!
